SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR BEATLES NIGHT.

1.Venue: If the event is to include Dinner, Vana pa hall and Chanmari Hall are out of the question as eating is not allowed. Only option is Tourist Lodge. Since entrance will be a little expensive, large crowd may not be expected, hence, the Tourist Lodge may be big enough. If good PA system is used, good, clean sound can be achieved in the hall as well as the dining area.

2.Dress: Participants may be encouraged to re-create the sixties feel with dress, hair style, shoes and other accessories.

3.Song selection: Your song selection are pretty exhaustive and probably is good enough.

Since this is the first of its kind here, maybe songs from all the Beatles era, such as early days, psychedelic era, and later days from Abbey Road and Let it be can be collected.

4.Performance:You are already thinking of Unplugged and Plugged versions, which is good as it will create variety. Songs may be covered in at least three ways

a) Straight covers, meaning as close to the Beatles version as possible.

b) Own cover, meaning the singer's own version of the song in his/her style.

c) Covers cover, meaning song already covered by other big artistes but in their unique style,

5.Audience participation: A quiz may be included to be conducted by the MC / Hosts in between item, which will include Beatles history and other facts. If there are sponsors, small gift items may be arranged for any one who answers correctly.

6.Impromptu performances: Impromptu performances may be had from the audience to liven things up

Beatles Night in Aizawl

We are planning to organize Beatles Night in Aizawl on 1st October 2009. Beatles fans, shortlisted will be singing The Beatles songs as a tribute. There will be performance with live music plugged and unplugged even Karaoke will be there apart from showing Video Clips of The Beatles.

The Beatles songs lyrics will be distributed, and while their songs were sung, and the lyrics will be projected in order to help younger fans sing along. We are expecting fans of all ages from 20 to 60 years.

We are considering to organize the event at Beraw Tlang where one can have dinner too. Entry fee will not be less than Rs 500 per head.
